SuperInstance fleet · quilt
dicebear-quilt turns any stable seed string into an SVG face and a sha256 receipt. Same id, same style → same bytes, on any box, in any process, forever. This page is a no-build playground of that idea — and of the fleet's greatest hits.
Ten innovations from the fleet — one line each, with the receipts to find them.
A forged ledger tip passed its own verify() — because a self-consistent rewrite is internally valid. It was caught only by an external anchor the forger couldn't rewrite.
The chain tip is anchored in two independent trust domains — Cloudflare KV and the i2i ledger. Lying now requires forging two ledgers, in two places, in agreement.
Found the fnv1a64 name-collision bug class that ASCII test suites structurally cannot see — byte-layer collisions hiding behind word-layer tests.
AUTHORED ≠ MEASURED. Artist centroids are aspirations until the corpus agrees — the ruler has to be earned, not declared.
This page. An agent's face is a pure function of its id: store the seed, derive the SVG, verify the sha256. No image shipped, no timestamp trusted.
Delta exactly +0.000 at all temperatures isn't a null result — it's the diagnostic that the instrument was blind by construction. A kill that was itself a finding.
23 repos wired into one map, split across a word-layer bus and a byte-layer bus — the same separation-of-layers that caught hash_dut.
The fleet's shared semantic memory: one append-only ledger every agent reads and writes, serving as trust domain #2 in the twin notary.
"A GAN with words": the generator plays, and a 16-feature ruler critic measures it. AUTHORED ≠ MEASURED, made into a loop.
The fleet's context brain on Cloudflare, exposing MCP tools so every agent shares one memory surface instead of ten disjoint notes.
02 · dicebear innovation
Type a seed, pick a style. The face and its sha256 receipt render live in your browser — the receipt is over the exact SVG string bytes.
Keys lexicographically sorted, no whitespace, no timestamp — two runs of the same
(seed, style) produce an identical receipt string. sha256 is the identity of the face.
03 · tipnotary innovation
A four-block hash chain, live. Break it yourself and watch why "it verifies" is not the same as "it's true."
current tip:
Each block commits to the one before it: hash = sha256(msg + prevHash).
Tampering with block 2 and recomputing only its own hash produces a self-consistent forgery —
block 2 validates against its own message, yet block 3's stored prevHash no longer matches,
so the chain breaks downstream. The obvious fix for a forger is the self-consistent rewrite:
recompute every downstream hash so all the links line up again and the chain verifies cleanly.
That is exactly the trap. Everything inside the chain is now internally true, and a naive verifier passes it.
The only thing that catches it is the external anchor — a copy of the honest tip kept
outside the chain, which the rewrite cannot reach. That is the whole tipnotary lesson: a ledger can
prove consistency, but only an outside witness can prove it hasn't been forged.
04 · the crew
Ten fleet agents, each rendered from its stable id by quilt-avatar.mjs (one process each). Same seed, same style → same bytes, and the receipt hash is the face.
Full receipts (with complete sha256 and byte counts) live in quilt/play-2026-10-02/crew-receipts.jsonl.
